Sanitation & Recycling
The Town of Geneva contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection. Our waste management company provides the 96 gallon cart and will only pick up these carts.
Trash pick up for the Town of Geneva is scheduled for pick up on Wednesday's. If a holiday falls Monday or Tuesday prior to pick up, the pick-up will be moved to Thursday.
For questions specific to trash pick up and broken cart issues, please call the waste management company directly, the number is marked on the cart.
THESE SERVICES ARE OPEN TO TOWN OF GENEVA RESIDENTS ONLY, PROOF OF A WATER BILL MAY BE REQUIRED.
HEAVY TRASH - Three Saturday's per year from 8:00 AM - 12:00PM we will have the dumpster available. This dumpster will also be available Monday thru Friday (excluding holidays) from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Location is at the Town Maintenance Building located at 198 W Fifth Street
Unacceptable Materials are: Areosol cans, animal carcasses, appliances with freon, asbestos, barrels with lids secure, chemicals, electronics, contaminated soil, fluorescent tubes, medical waste, oil filters, propane tanks, radioactive material, railroad ties, tires and other special wastes.
COMPOST SITE -The Town of Geneva Compost site is located at the end of Hale Street (300 block)
We accept the following:
Limbs, Grass Clippings, Old Vegatation.
DO NOT bring landscape timbers blocks or trash to the compost site.
